PICK: Westminster Dog Show - Best in Breed

Ok, this pick was a little hard and took a while to put together. Basically, there are just too many breeds for a dog to choose from, so the idea we came up with was to choose which GROUP the best in breed will come from. Then, in thinking about it some more, this is the one sport where I do have show some bias - I'm a Standard Poodle - only a Standard Poodle should win best in Breed!!! So this is really about which breed is second if it is not a Standard Poodle chosen on Tuesday.

RECAP: Sunday 2-8-2009 Pepper goes 2-2 Overall Weekend 5-3

Sour Sunday for Pepper, I really thought the Celtics would dominate of the Spurs.  Good thing the Lakers vs. Cavaliers was the late games.  Watched (and slept) thought most of it but it was exciting second half as the Lakers came back from 12 down to win.

Illinios defeats Purdue (Purdue = "to lose" must remember that going forward)
Spurs defeats Celtics (in the final minutes)
Red Wings defeat the Penguins (hockey is going good... expect 2 picks next with the NBA playing their All-Star Game)
Lakers defeat the Cavaliers (Pepper is proud of this pick)

RECAP: Saturday 2-7-09 Pepper Goes 3-1

Pepper gets 3 Wins and 1 loss to start the week. Overall in NCAA Basketball picks, Pepper is 10-3. Pepper has 4 picks for Sunday (2 NBA, 1 NHL and 1 NCAA Basketball)

Arizona defeats Oregon (apparently Oregon isn't that good)
Kansas defeats Oklahoma State
Vanderbilt defeats Mississippi
UCLA defeats Notre Dame (Pepper lone loss so far)

PICK: Spurs vs Celtics

I lost that Mavs at Celtics AND Spurs at Lakers game a few weeks back by picking the two Dallas teams on the road. Lesson learned the hard way. The Celtics will be coming off a huge game versus the Lakers and are playing excellent basketball again (now that the Stephan Marbey poison coming to Boston talk has stopped). PICK: Lakers vs. Cavaliers

The Cavaliers are one of those teams the Lakers have dominated since LeBron has entered into the league. The Cavaliers haven't lost at home all season. Kobe has been putting up some amazing numbers on this road trip, although the back to back games between the Raptors and Celtics could take its toll. The Lakers dominated the Cavs back at the Staples Center last month so look for the Lakers to end the Cavs home streak. PoodlePick: LAKERS.

PICK: Notre Dame vs UCLA

This is the third time UCLA has been featured in PoodlePicks, losing a squeaker in OT to Arizona State and then blowing out Stanford. Norte Dame is struggling, talk on ESPN is that they are on the bubble of making the NCAA Tournament, but their loses are coming against very tough Big East teams. I think Notre Dame will take this opportunity to prove they are a elite team and need this win to get back on track. PoodlePick: NOTRE DAME.
